The first track ‘Someone Else’, draws you in immediately with a solid beat and dirty/crunchy synth-work that will make you intrigued to know what’s next. The vocals come in shortly after but they only tease, then fade, while a second synth darkens the horizon and suddenly it feels like there’s some sort of enormous presence looming, like what I imagine you’d hear as the Greek Titans finally escape the depths of Tartarus.

Produced by Sune Rose Wagner of The Raveonettes, the EP is part of a series of releases culminating in a full-length album expected in 2020. Wagner responded to a tweet sent out by guitarist/songwriter Jay Bonaparte expressing his wish to work with the Danish songwriter, singer, guitarist. After a series of interactions, Wagner came up from New York City to produce the EP with Bonaparte and keyboardist/vocalist Michelle Opthof (keyboardist and vocals).

Musically ‘Save Me’ reminds me of 80’s acts like the late Kirsty Maccoll and to a degree Voice Of The Beehive. All be it with a fuzzier guitar sound. The vocals are pure and suit the song well. Ottawa-based indie-rock/electronic duo Paragon Cause has a new EP on the way titled Lies Between Us, due September 13. From that set, the group recently released the single "Save Me." It, like much of the band's recent studio work, was produced by Sune Rose Wagner of the long-running Danish rock group The Raveonettes. Vocalist/keyboardist Michelle Opthof commented on the politically-charged track, which the band had set out to write as a punk song:
